Animal Crossing

                Animal Crossing Series

For all of us who have the game, Animal Crossing holds a place in all of our hearts. Whether it’s the original for Gamecube, Wild World for the DS, City Folk for Wii or even the rarely spoken of Animal Forest for the Nintendo 64 (only released in Japan). The cell-shaded, kid-friendly, virtual life game just does something to all of us. The way the game keeps going even when you haven’t played for years is something that makes us frustrated, but still compels us to pull ALL of the weeds in our towns, or talk to ALL of your townspeople to let them know that you aren’t dead!!! Just walking around town fishing, or catching bugs gives us enjoyment in itself.

Animal Forest: The original Animal Crossing before it was called Animal Crossing. When you look at this, compared to the original Animal Crossing for Gamecube there really isn’t that much difference. Animal Forest only has 1 or 2 more fish and bugs, and a few more items than the original Animal Crossing for Gamecube.

Animal Crossing: Where it all started in the U.S.; it immediately took hold of kids and adults alike. With hundreds of items such as furniture, clothing, hats, umbrellas and more! You may even play the game for over 200 hours and still uncover something new! This is Obviously a good game since it was one of the best selling Gamecube games ever!

Animal Crossing Wild World: The second installment in the Animal Crossing series this time for the DS! When I played this I felt the most comfortable using the touch screen to navigate my items in my pockets, and even my character! Unlike the others, you don’t have to push a button to look at the sky to admire your constellations or look for floating presents or even Gulliver’s spaceship! The sky is always on the top screen, unless your in a building, looking in your pockets, or talking to someone. It will literally take you YEARS to buy every item in this game! (unless you use action replay of course)

Animal Crossing City Folk: City Folk is a grand expansion of Wild World, but that’s pretty much all it is; an expansion. The only real different thing is you can go to the city to visit shops such as Gracie Grace or the auction house previously in neither of the other games. Although this is a new and satisfying addition, you feel like it’s a port of Wild World with a few downloaded expansions and Wii controls.

Animal Crossing 3D: Not much has been said about 3D. Only a that it does exist and a few screenshots have been released.

The offensive material is kept at a bare minimum and is pretty much equivalent for all of the games. It is family friendly and rated E so there really isn’t that much to say about offensive material…

For the concluding statement, I would say if you want the best possible Animal Crossing experience, get Wild World. If you like to lay back on the couch and waste time, City Folk would probably be your game, but only if you don’t get easily addicted, because Animal Crossing really can pull you in!
